Arrotek strives towards a greener future, and we fully support the move towards environmental sustainability. Work is currently underway to install electric car charging facilities outside of our premises in Finisklin Business Park in Sligo. More of our staff are investing in electric vehicles and this charging point will give them a convenient and hassle-free way to fuel up whilst also being kind to the environment. We are delighted to be able to offer this electric car charging point to our staff and customers.
Arrotek has made a donation to UNICEF’s Get a Vaccine, Give a Vaccine campaign to help the organisation in its efforts to deliver Covid-19 vaccines to the world's most vulnerable people. UNICEF's goal is to help vaccinate two billion people across the globe, with a focus on health workers, vulnerable families, and other high-risk groups. It is doing this because scientists and health professionals believe nobody is safe from Covid-19 until everyone is safe. Sligo medical device companies Arrotek Medical, Ward Automation, and Verus Metrology have come together to provide sponsorship for Irish middle-distance runner, John Travers. At Arrotek, we ran another virtual Sports and Social Club event during March to promote Spring fitness. We split up into four teams to compete in a challenge to see who could walk, run, and cycle the furthest. Team Carrowmore came out on top covering 931km during the month. Employees in Arrotek have taken part in an Eat Well, Feel Well workshop. It was presented by nutritionist Aoife Clancy. Aoife is the performance nutritionist with Sligo GAA's Senior football and hurling teams. She also runs a nutrition clinic. The aim of the virtual workshop was to discuss a balanced approach to a healthy lifestyle, nutrition, and the immune system. The Arrotek team again this year got involved with the Nazareth House appeal. We received gift tags from Nazareth House containing the names of current residents. These are residents who have had minimal contact with loved ones throughout 2020 because of the impact of the pandemic. Nazareth House provides a range of different care services to people in the community. This includes long-term care, respite care, and convalescence care, as well as end of life and palliative care.
