    • Materials \u2013 needles are typically manufactured from 300-series or 400-series stainless steel. Nitinol is also used for specialist applications.<\/li>\n
    • Manufacturing techniques \u2013 various manufacturing techniques can be used to produce needles with each option having an impact on the performance of the component.<\/li>\n
    • Needle size \u2013 the required gauge size of the needle.<\/li>\n
    • Coatings \u2013 various coatings can be applied to needles to, for example, increase lubricity or improve the component’s hydrophobic properties.<\/li>\n
    • Coring and non-coring \u2013 coring needles withdraw tiny amounts of tissue.<\/li>\n
    • Penetration force \u2013 various factors determine the level of penetration required for the component to be effective.<\/li>\n
    • Stylet \u2013 solid rods introduced into needles, often to prevent coring.<\/li>\n
    • Echogenic markings – increases visibility.<\/li>\n
    • Bevel length \u2013 distance from the heel of the needle to the point.<\/li>\n
    • Burr \u2013 the amount of deflection at the needle’s point. For minimally invasive medical devices, this typically has to be 0.001 or below.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
